Books Are Like....

Some think books are boring
Others think they are useless
But I think books are daring
And books are things that are priceless
Books are like pirate ships that sail across the sea
To lands of kings and queens
To the land of people who are bold and free
Or to the land of snow and jungle trees
Books are like a lost kite
Knowing nothing about where to go;
Doing adventures that could last day and night;
Or just go with the wind’s flow
Books are like a big zoo
That contains a variety of animals;
That makes an open home
To those who are wild and free to roam
Books are like flowers that brighten my day
With their beautiful colors and sweet smells
That prevents my life from turning gray
That always seems like they got me under a spell
Books are about fairies, dwarfs and elves
Castles, mermaids and faraway places
Cowboys and people like ourselves
And other creatures with different faces
Books are like hot dog and ketchup in a bun
They make the bread tasteful and sweet
They seem to make our troubles to be gone
And they give our lives a treat
