Toad... The Dark Horse
Lucy Lockett

The Dark Horse stumbles, losing his footing as he transforms into the Toad....
the only way he knows; from bad light to none at all....

He was whipped from without as that horse then chose ugliness to shelter as his form.
He had been given all the opportunity as a young buck to blossom which he denied for his own reasons.
Now only fear, neglect of the body self rules his way.

He hops from one thing to the next without caring who he hurts, shrouded by a dark cloak of hate.

This cloak he guards vehemently because if it was to be discovered, no man would wish to be in his presence. This cloak contained pure hate and all that was evil and dark...
It held layers and layers of the aforementioned characteristics and upon meeting the light Princess it took her one whole year to realise what was being guarded.

Prior to her discovery of a glimpse of an uppermost layer of self hatred, the Light Princess had seen beauty in the shrouded toad. But she was really only seeing her own light beauty. She could not peel away the layers because the toad was comfortable in his darkness and she only yearned for her own kind.

It was up to the toad to transform himself; this she knew without question and thus she removed herself from his ugly presence.....
