The Greater Hope
As though a clean wind on a mountain top could mean enough, it without effort Would free a single addict eaten by the beast, and Might unfetter through lucky chance the bearer of a criminal psyche, Rebuild the psychology of an unlucky slave to the flesh,
New heaven and new earth insufficient being written, it Could take the prisoner beyond the cell, like an easy choice Would overcome the medication of a psychiatric patient, it Might silence with its unheard voice the loudest shells for chosen soldier, Chance to stand nonviolent in torture’s sharper claws.
Outside the box of thought or inspiration, it Could sneak inside undo a bureaucratic institution, at whim Would unexplain the motives of a nation or a world, it Might reteach rules of planets or the stars, could Clear the simple hurdles theories of the universe.
Beyond the more extraordinary pale of lightened vision, it Could outdo brilliance spawned of intellect’s mechanics, at will Would like a second to a heart’s tears’ vision, Grow a greater peaceful clarity, and so Might fertilize an even greater love, and Choose its unseen self to beat down leaden spirits, so Lies the greater hope.
