Once Lawrence Peters
There wasn't a moment today,
from when I went to sleep last night
to when I woke today
all during my day
that I didn't think of you and smile
that I didn't want to hold you close
hear your voice
see you smile
I must have put my palm up a dozen times
and felt the tingle of your presence in my world
Knowing that you're in the world for me is everything
you make the smallest moments bright
the darkest ones meaningless
the future roars with the thoughts of us together
and I know, that for this brief moment in our lives
that I love you with all my heart
all my mind
all my soul
I love you
The wildest part is:
The best is yet to come
it only gets
stronger
deeper
fuller
hotter
it grows and grows without end
without boundries
without regard for time
space
distance
and here's wildest part 2:
it's real
I'll never build you up in my mind
into someone you couldn't be in real life
you are you
and that's who I'm in love with
you'll never disappoint me
never bore me
never feel an awkward moment of silence
or spare my feelings for my sake
you believe in me
trust me
and there is no way I could ever violate that trust
If I had to write wedding vows for us
this would be them
but they wouldn't need to be said.
I would just out my palm to yours
and look in your eyes
and if I never got to look in your eyes
hear your voice
see you smile
or hear you laugh again
I would still carry these moments in my heart
and know that there was a time
that you loved me
and that for that brief moment in time
my heart sang
my blood roared
and the world was us together.
