“Hannah you look so beautiful for your first big dance”, Hannah’s mother said as she was putting the final touches on her dress.
“Thanks mom but Cody will be here any minute and I’m still not done getting dressed”.
Hannah’s mom left and Hannah finished her make-up. She was so excited because she was sure that Cody was going to ask her to marry him.
It all started three years before. Cody and Hannah met at their freshman ‘get to know each other’ dance. They danced for the first time at that dance. A week later they began dating. Hannah and Cody couldn’t have been happier. That was when the peer pressure and wandering eyes started. Hannah had her eye on this other guy, Jason. Cody had his eye on this other girl, Melanie. Only thing was Cody and Hannah really liked each other.
Their sophomore year Cody said Te Queiro to Hannah. Hannah was shocked and astounded but confused. She had no clue what Te Queiro meant. She knew it was Spanish but didn’t know what it meant.
The following year Hannah started saying I love you to Cody but all he would say back was Te Queiro. She became frustrated and gave up on trying to translate the two small words. Cody found it funny that Hannah was so frustrated with him when he said Te Queiro.
Then their senior year came along and Cody and Hannah began getting serious but Cody still wouldn’t say I love you to Hannah. All he would say is Te Queiro.
When the two of them decided to go to prom Hannah was determined to find out what he was saying to her.
“Cody how nice to see you again”, Hannah heard her mother say. “Hannah’s not ready yet, would care to wait a few minute”?
“Not at all”.
“No need for him to wait I think I’ve finally perfected myself”.
“You look amazing Hannah”, Cody said giving her a soft kiss on the cheek.
Hannah was confused; she had never felt this kiss before. It was almost like someone else was kissing her instead of the boyfriend that she hoped to marry.
Cody and Hannah walked out the door hand and hand. Cody opened the door for her and Hannah sat down really pretty, as if the dress would be ruined if she didn’t.
Cody laughed and said, “Te Queiro when you act fancier than you actually are”.
Hannah giggled and blushed.
Once at the school Cody and Hannah sat in the car and talked for about 30 minutes.
“What was that important thing you couldn’t tell me at school”?
“Hannah I don’t know how to do this but I’m just going to do it”.
“Yes”?
“Hannah I’m sick”.
“Well I can drive you home if you’re sick”.
“I have cancer Hannah. It started in my left arm and moved to my lungs”.
“Is this some kind of sick joke”?
“No Hannah. That’s why I won’t ask you to marry me. Because the doctors said I only have 2 years to live”.
Hannah began to cry. She couldn’t believe that her best friend and boyfriend had cancer. She sat there crying for a minute and realized that if they did get married then they’d still have time to have at least one kid.
“Listen, don’t cry for me. It’s not that painful”.
“Why don’t we get married anyway? We’d have time to have at least one child if we got married within the year”.
“Hannah I don’t want to put you through that. I don’t want you at home with a kid for the next 18 years without someone to help you take care of it”.
Hannah still thought they should have a child together. She leaned over to Cody and planted a soft kiss on his lips. As she backed away her sapphire eyes glistened. Cody began kissing her and laying her down. He rose up for a second.
“Hannah are you sure you want a child with me”?
“I would rather have a child with you than die alone and miserable”.
Cody began kissing Hannah again and he unbuttoned his shirt ever so slightly.
“Not here Cody. I don’t want to make a baby with you in the front seat of your car. Can we go to a hotel or something”?
Cody backed off of Hannah and quickly drove to the nearest hotel. He got the honeymoon sweet and Hannah told him that she would have been happy with a small room.
Hannah and Cody go into the big bedroom and Cody slips Hannah’s dress off of her. Hannah takes off Cody’s pants and shirt. They lay down on the bed Cody on top of Hannah.
“Te Queiro”.
Hannah didn’t care what it meant. She just wanted Cody. Cody and Hannah make love so sweetly that they go through the entire night. Once the morning arrives Hannah awakens and rolls over to see if Cody is awake yet. What she finds is that Cody is starting to fall ill.
“Cody! No! You can’t die now I won’t let you”.
“Hannah there’s nothing you can do”.
“I’ll call the hospital”.
“Don’t bother. I wanted to tell you something about the words Te Queiro”.
This is what Hannah always wanted to hear. She sat down beside Cody and grabbed his hand.
“Te Queiro is Spanish for I love you. I have always loved you Hannah and I always will. I give you my last words. If you are pregnant then I don’t want you to give up on him or her or even them”, at that moment Cody died.
“No! Cody come back”! Hannah screamed. She began to cry. She pulled Cody’s hand up to her lips and kissed his fingers.
Twenty minutes later the police and an ambulance arrived. But it was to late, for Cody had died before they were even called.
Nine months later Hannah gave birth to two beautiful babies. A boy and a girl. She named them Cody and Kodi. “After their father” she would tell her visitors.
Eighteen years later as Hannah got her children ready for prom she had a stroke. Hannah was rushed to the hospital. She told a nurse her last words.
“Tell my kids Te Queiro for me”.
Hannah died just a few minutes after that.
Kodi and Cody mourned over the lose of their mother. They began to wonder what Te Queiro meant. That was when they took a good look at their mother and fathers tombstone. They died exactly eighteen years after each other. And on the tombstone below their last name were the words Te Queiro.

"I don't how old you are but that was maybe somewhat interesting. You mean to tell me Hannah did not know that Cody was hispanic or was he? Why didn't she use a spanish dictionary to look up the words or couldn't she spell? What time period did this occur in? Did Cody die with his clothes off, after he and hannah had had sex? With cancer being that advanced it's aweful strange that his parents would not be close by. It's rare that a person with cancer just drops dead, if he's been diagnosed and treated. You need to research your story details first and make sure you have all the facts then write based on the specific details that are available from your research.
