Lost Girl 3 Abbie Angel
I like libraries alot. Me and dad went to the library at night to work on school projects. Mom would have went with us but she mostly worked nights to help out. Dad said by reading, you could travel to faraway places. You could explore outer space and learn another language. I stay away from the cookbook section because they remind me how hungry I really am. What I was looking for today were answers why things happen the way that they do.
Yesterday I got some different clothes. Somebody had their laundry on a line in their backyard so I took a pair of jeans and a couple of shirts, but I left my old ones. They got loose because I lost so much weight from not eating right. I left a note and told them to wash my old clothes and use them until I could pay them for borrowing theirs. My shoes are old and worn out but maybe I can find a pair later on. Then I washed up from a faucet in the yard because I knew nobody was home. They had a nice backyard with squirrels and cardinals. Anyway, I felt clean again and the clothes smelled fresh like the way flowers smell when they first open up, so I took my firt bus ride since running away from home. I was sure that somebody might have seen my picture somewhere, you know, like on a grocery bag or someplace where they show missing kids. But it was good. The bus driver didn't even look at me when I got on and I sat in the back. There weren't too many people on the bus and we passed old buildings and over a wooden bridge that was really bumpy and creaked like old bones. The bus went downtown and I got off. Sometimes I feel safe in a crowd because you can get lost in a sea of faces. All those faces become faceless. Buildings stood like giant mountains made of glass and concrete and they blocked the sun.
There were men wearing suits and carrying brief cases, nicely dressed women. There were people dressed in old, dirty clothes pushing shopping carts around. Sometimes the nice dressed people would drop money in the carts but mostly they looked away from them like they weren't even there. Anyway, I went uptown and found a donut shop and got coffee because it cost less than anything else. At first I hated it because it was bitter but I put lots of sugar in it. Two policemen came in and I was real scared, especially when on looked at me, like h saw me before or maybe he knew the clothes I had on were borrowed. But when I smiled at him he smiled back at me. You can get more done with a smile then just by looking away. When they went up to the counter I got up and left the place.
I feel worse than a criminal because I have to run even though I didn't do anything bad to anybody. I pray to my guardian angel to help me find food, water and just a safe place to sleep at night and I think that prayer helps. So I found this big library downtown with 3 levels and lots of books. My dad got nme a telescope one Christmas and me, mom and dad looked at all kinds of neat stuff in the night sky, like stars and planets. Dad told me once that stars twinkle because they are like the sun and make their own light. Planets don't twinkle in the night because they reflect light, not make it. Dd knew alot from reading books and when I was little he would always read bedtime stories to me. Anyway, I'm looking for things about God and the library is the place to start. My stepdad never believed in God and he got mad when my mom prayed, so she just stopped praying because they always got into it when she did. I learned that the universe got started when a tiny speck of something just blew up, creating the stars, planets, solar systems and other pretty night lights in the sky. The scientists say that's how everything formed, from a Big Bang billions of years ago. But nobody knows where that tiny speck came from, the one that explode. I think God put it there. Maybe it was a tear from God's eye because he was so lonely.
I hope people are reading my stories because it makes me feel good, writing for somebody who might care what happens to me. But don't feel sorry for me, okay? I know there are kids dying from sickness out there and need your prayers and love more than I do. I liked watching the telethon on Labor Day and a couple of times I even collected for those poor sick kids in wheelchairs. Well, I'm not sick like those poor kids are. I try not to cry alot and only do it at night because nights are dark and scary when you have no place to go and nobody to hug you.
Well, I won't write for a while because I have to find someplace else to go. Goodbye, everybody.
