My Wife And The Invisible People Greg Dinunzio
My wife does not read this sight, but a friend of hers does, and squeals on me every time I mention her...tough crap, one more column on her.
This happened EVERY time we went to dinner. Sitting at a table, just finished ordering... my wife would be looking past my shoulder..obviously reacting to a conversation or activities at another table. She would run the gamut of emotions...smiling, showing surprise, sadness, full laughter, the 'poor baby' look, etc.
There is only one problem...I would look over my shoulder to see who she was responding to, and there was never anyone there...not close...not even in the same time zone...yes, she was once again reacting to the 'invisible' family.
Imagine the 'invisibles' talking about the upcoming invisible baby, or preparations for the invisible prom, or heavens! the invisible wedding! All of the normal reactions were on display...she would even nod her head in agreement...after awhile, I would not even look...I knew, from experience, that the 'Invisibles' had pulled up to the table next to ours, and that the invisible waitress was on her way.
If the Invisibles left...not to worry! Another family had a reservation for the same table! If I tell this story in public (mean, mean me), my wife will laugh, but not deny..
Always tricky pulling out of the parking lot after dinner...those invisible Lincolns take up so much room!
