The Lonely Donkey Garry Michael Ames
there was once a baby donkey born in the wild. his parents had left him all alone because he was born the colour of pink. none of the other donkeys would play with him because of his colour. they would not even drink with him at the waterline. they would run around him grunting and snorting. often the lonely donkey went looking for other donkeys the same colour as him. he never found any. he became very very lonely. one sunny afternoon the lonely donkey laid in the shade under a tree and fell asleep. he was awoken to a loud noise coming from down at the waterline. he went down to see what was going on. it was a lion chasing the other donkeys hunting for food. the lonely donkey ran towards it. the lion took one look at the lonely donkey and ran away. it had never seen a pink donkey before. all of the other donkeys went up to the lonely donkey and licked his pink coat. he was never lonely ever again.
