I'll Always Be Around David W Ledger
As I sit here tonight in my room
Reminiscing over pictures of you
Your handsome face smiles up at me
Not knowing what would come to be
I see our first time ever on the beach
Sitting on a pony and playing on the swings
Our lives have changed so much
These past few years
Sometimes it's hard to see the forest from the tears
CHORUS:
But what I want you to know about me is
I'll never let you down
It's important to me that you know that
If you need me I'll always be around
To pick you up off the ground
I believe I do recall the first time ever I saw you crawl
Next you learned to walk and then to run
Went to the fleamart and bought you a bike
Twenty dollars never brought so much fun
At first you couldn't ride without me by your side
But then, eventually, your tears all went away
Now despite a skinned up knee you ride so fearlessly
Remember this my son 'cause life's just that way
CHORUS
I think about your life since mom and I parted ways
And despite a milliion thoughts I'm still not sure what to say
I'd like to take away your pain somehow if I could
Maybe it would help you if you understood
Love's important, It's not a game
Like a flower, it's a prescious pretty thing
If you don't tend to it, it'll fade away
To get love you give love, there is no other way
CHORUS
