What can you say about the best star of them all,
when in the prime of her life,
she took her final call
her fans always knew her as their beauty queen
as they all lined up to see her magic,
on the silver screen
she always wanted to hear, Marilyn, "you were
really good, yes you really are"
but, she always looked for the tarnish
on her golden star

[We all have the right to twinkle were
the last words that she wrote
when her ship was sinking, all she wanted
was to float
the twinkle came from hollywoods' brightest star
she had the right to twinkle,
but, not that bright or far]
critics wrote of overrated acting
and overstated looks
now we find them writing
the "how she did it" books
her last movie was her epitaph,
"Somethings' Got to Give"
written by the ones, who wouldn't let her live
no one understood her ,
until she breathed her last
dying all alone, with a small supporting cast

she waited for the best of rolls
as not just another blonde
immortality is her roll, her waiting time is gone
and after she had died, she really wasn't gone
her awsome beauty and mysterious power
still lives on and on
