Some Mia Angello
Today I am proceeding with caution, taking care of myself.
I'm broken and some of the pieces are missing.
Some days it's enough just to have made it through without acting on my urges to call you, since you left.
It's all around me- this wonderous, beautiful place where wind ripples the lakes, clouds float across the kodachrome sky, flowers sway in the fields and my daughter's smile blesses my eyes.
Yet, the pain is through me- taking my spirit for a ride, every turn squeezing my soul for whatever it can from
what's left, since you left.
Some days it's enough just to have made it through
without acting on my urges to step out of this life, since you left.
I made a place for you in my heart, and called the place inside your arms, home.
It was the place where I reconciled my past, conquered the present and dreamed of our future.
I wouldn't go as far to say, you were my everything.
But now that you're gone, I'm homeless.
Some days it's enough just to have made it through without anyone noticing the happiness is missing,
the spark is gone and the tears have won, since you left.
If life is so painful, how could death be any less?
If life is so meaningful, why is mine meaningless, since you left?
Every second without you stops to figure out why you didn't want what we had, and how come I'm still this sad, and if I've crossed the line that defines I'm mad.
Today I'm just proceeding with caution-
stepping over the potholes and taking care not to fall into a hospital or freshly dug grave.
I'm broken and there's missing pieces and I was wondering,
did you take some with you when you left?
