A Crown Hath Promised
Keri McGriff

Face to face he hath promised
without a veil between.
What does it mean, the scripture
which speaks of a veil between?

To some perhaps it is "limbo"
to others a place far below.
To some who have studied the mind of man
the subconscious is that place below.

You'll forever stand out always in memory
though the veil is now between.
Looking at the sad haunting eyes
of my wonderful King.

Daily we conversed together
our secrets thought all brought to view.
My conceptions much different
from the ideas you knew.

Poor little soul amongst the sea of
the lost souls.
I did not know I was the last to go.
Slowly I realized your sin and why it was.
Salvation was offered to you dear one.

You gladly accepted and in return gave
me the tast of the tree of reality.
Allusive wisdom, almost a wrath it vanished.

A crown I wished you hath promised
and jewels for that crown.
A garnet rare or a ruby red
your own lifes blood which was shed.
For which your heart might be won.
