Broken Tears
Rae
can't find myself again
so lost I wanna scream
hidden under long sleeves
'cause things aren't always what them seem
how can you ask what my problem is
you can't believe the things that are real
I must come off apathetic to you
a reflection of the pain I feel
a malingering problem
that's what you say
more like self-abuse
'cause I can't handle this today
well it's been too many pills
up and down hills
my hands still shake
'cause I think I'm still fake
a knife in my grip
before the steaming-up mirrors
I'll use it to bleed out
all of these broken tears
home alone too much
but I've got no one to call
maybe it's back to that crutch
or maybe I'm too tired to fall
I see them dying around me
or leaving me all alone
and the ardor that once fed me
has left me skin and bones
so I scream at the top of my lungs
bang my head against a door
and when I cut myself on accident
my body begged for more
well it's been too many pills
up and down hills
my hands still shake
'cause I think I'm still fake
a knife in my grip
before the steaming-up mirrors
I'll use it to bleed out
all of these broken tears
bruises on my face
who cares who put them there
you'd shrug it off anyway
though it's poison in my air
put my head under water
to see how long till I drown
and if this torment is my drug
I'm so high I'll never come down
the world all whirls till I black out
quaking in my own skin
beat it until I pass out
wake and it begins again
'cause it's been too many pills
up and down hills
my hands still shake
'cause I know I'm still fake
