Equality Sara Roggy
There was once in a lifetime
when life did make sense.
I swear, at one point in time,
life was simple,
people had little to worry about.
And life was easy,
not so complicated that,
if you got thrown off the deepend
because you didn’t get something,
you couldn’t find your way back up.
There was a time
when you could’ve found food, and shelter,
and had nothing else to worry about
except caring for your family.
At one point in time,
all you needed was the basic needs to live,
and you could live a happy life,
free of problems.
Now, it seems all people care about is money.
Money has made us
selfish, stuck up, so annoyingly stupid,
you just wanna lash out at those who
try to be better then you because
they have more money than you.
Once upon a time,
there was no such thing as money.
And everyone was considered equal.
Now, there’s almost no such thing
as equality. Everyone’s discriminated against
for some reason.
You can claim people are considered equal,
but that’ll never be true.

"i half agree with you but i have to say that life was never easy, back then was worse in some ways, such as slavery, and women didn't have the right to vote or have high jobs such as doctor, lawyer and tech. back then it wasn't all about money but the equality of people. now it's about money, jewelry, looks and sex, it's not about equality.nice poem, i must say, you expressed your views. " -- lori-ann.
"great poem and i totally agree with you except lori ann does have a point. keep it up. " -- jeni Jopes.
