Foolish Hanan Al Kindi
I sit here, my head spinning
I feel like standing up and running
I thought I knew you well
How could you go and tell?
Weren’t you the innocent one?
Trustworthy, caring and fun
But now I guess I was wrong
I shouldn’t have trusted you all along
You give me that false smile
That tricks me for a while
But then I wake up and realize
The evilness behind those eyes
You gave me your word
Oh god, I was really absurd
Please tell me how you do it
You broke me down bit by bit
I feel like yelling and screaming
Your actions have no meaning
You stabbed me right in the back
When I wasn’t expecting you to attack
The way you played with my trust
I must leave you, I really must
But then you have your ways again
To bring me to you, after the pain
You’ll make me think it was a mistake
I don’t know how, or how long you’ll take
But in the end I’ll come back to you
And I’ll give you my trust too
Why am I so dense and naïve?
Why don’t I have the strength to leave?
Is it because I have this fear?
Or is it because you wont be near?
I want to run away so far
I want to speed away in my car
I want to be strong enough
So you can’t fool me with your stuff
I want to remember that you’re bad
I want to remember the problems I had
I know I’ll forgive you in the end
But my broken heart, you cannot mend
I know you’ll be waiting for me
I know that fake smile I’ll see
I know you’re cruel when I’m nice
And I know I’ll have to pay the price
But I was foolish since we met
I always forgive, but I never forget
I know that you always pretend
But in the end – you’re my friend

"i had a friend like that once...the poem is not bad, it rhymes well and there's truth in what you say...only the last line is somewhat wrong. since this person is no friend, then what is he/she? pain is pleasure, pleasure is pain, there comes a time when all things must change." -- sunny, DC, DC, USA.
