Forbidden Love
We know they are in love and we should try to understand
As life's to short to yield to a mother's vision
She is just a teenage youngster, and he is in his prime
Loving hearts have caused this unfortunate collision
Should we be sitting here in judgement, or lending a helping hand
True love you know, is definitely here to stay
Will we make the right decision whichever way we go
If we stopped this merger, we'd be guilty of betray
A happy couples love is their ticket to the future
She looks at him with moonbeams in her eyes
He takes her by the hand and leads her far beyond
As we hear the Bellbird's call upon sunrise
The wind is in their face as they walk among the gums
There's a smell of eucalyptus in the air
With fingers gently touching, strolling through the leaves
It's plain to see this lovely couple care
These two hearts have been forewarned of the dangers up ahead
About a friendship, between a child and a man
It can only cause a fracture twixt a mother and her offspring
As he is the older, I know he'll understand
In closing I would like to say, I know this couple well
I know they will do the best for all affected
Forbidden love is hard when you're starting out in life
But one must know, a child,- must be protected
