Goodbye America Richard Koss
In just a couple of weeks I will have passed the twilight of my life. I no longer have the fortitude and energy to argue with stubborn, ignorant and uninformed people of all ages. I have all but given up any hope that this country can be rescued from the depths to which it has sunk under the present administration and congress.
How we got to the brink of disaster is not really such an insidious journey as anyone with reasonable intelligence and common sense would like to believe. We
were forewarned prior to Obama’s election in 2008, of the man’s intentions to re-shape this country’s destiny and his dissatisfaction with the Constitution of the United States. In other words, he was quite open about his leftist idealism and vigorously pursued his agenda, often ignoring the rule of law by enforcing those laws he agreed with while failing to enforce others. He was able to pass his healthcare reform bill by by-passing traditional legislative procedures while his own congressional leaders admitted that it was too voluminous and complex to fully digest the consequences of such legislation. As speaker Pelosi said, “We must pass this bill now. We can finish reading it and figure out what it says later.”
That we elected the least vetted presidential candidate in the history of this nation is amazing in itself, but to do it twice is inexplicable. This articulate, charismatic, man referred to by his admirers as a “rhetorical genius” has proven himself a colossal fraud, devoid of any experience in the private economic sector as well as world affairs. He has demonstrated poor leadership qualities in every capacity, especially as commander in chief of our armed forces. He has failed to improve race relations during his six years in office and if anything, he has polarized this nation by interfering with law enforcement at all levels, making inflammatory comments and inciting his black constituency as if he were first, a black leader and secondly, the President of a nation with a Caucasian population of 83%.
An adoring media, largely responsible for his success at getting elected, has consistently under-reported his failures and exaggerated any positive actions on his part. Many people, including some of his democratic supporters, feel President Obama has lost touch with the American people and many of our foreign allies, especially Israel. His more than friendly attitude towards Muslims raises questions as to his claims to being a Christian.
The truth is, Obama was never in touch with the American people, the United States Constitution, and the traditions that made the United States a great nation. His writings and ideological heroes make it clear he is no advocate of Capitalism, and if anything, would prefer a Socialist state. This is also evidenced by the political backgrounds of the people he has appointed to cabinet and non-cabinet positions in his administration.
It’s futile to enumerate the many political, economic, and social crises (foreign and domestic) confronting this nation today. There will be more, especially if the Senate remains controlled by the Democrats. Even if the Republicans win the Senate and maintain control of the House of Representatives, Obama will make it difficult for them and based upon his track record of executive orders and his determination to by-pass traditional legislative procedures, he will rely upon his own will and arrogance to push forward his agenda to the very end of his term. However, the end of Obama’s term does not necessarily mean a reversal of the damage done to this country during his tenure.
Whether or not this nation can be rescued and restored to a shadow of its former greatness is a question which can only be answered by some future generation. I know one thing for certain, it’ll take a lot more than texting and tweeting to save this country. I won’t be around to see it. So for now, I’ll just say “Goodbye America.”

"Getting rid of Obama wil not repair the damage done these past six years. He is only a figurehead for powerful, billionaire sources whose ultimate goals are the dismantling of the U.S. economy, its traditional political and social structure, and ultimately its loss of status as the most powerful nation in the world. ( A transformation which has been ongoing for some time now.) " -- Maru Anduhar, San Francisco.
