I'm Truly Tired....

I'm tired...
exhausted rather....
always doing the right thing....
I just want to sleep...
Dream of pink elephants,
playing with purple monkeys
on blue grass
under green skies...
Dream of the childhood I never had
follwed by the great love that I'll never know.
Consumed with the urge
to drift away from responsibility,
Drenched in the fear of what it means
once I go to sleep...
Knowing she will take over....
She has the uncanny ability,
to get us into trouble...
and then disappear to let me figure shit out alone...
The last time was 6 years ago....
attempted murder...
How the fuck i got outta that...
I don't know...
but here I am...
Struggling with the urge to go back to sleep,
and let her handle the world for a while...
the issue with that...
6 years ago...
i took a 20 minute nap...
and almost spent a lifetime in jail...
*sigh*
I'm so sleepy...
I feel my eyes getting heavy...
I guess I have no choice....
