AUTHOR'S OTHER TITLES (17) A Really Very Gothic Poem (Poetry) This is so very depressingly gothic that you will scream with fury and tear your hair out in despair. Or maybe not. (As you may have guessed I am not over-fond of gothic poetry.) [107 words] [Humor] Dogfish (Short Stories) An owner tells the story of a neurotic, once-abused dog. [1,352 words] [Animal] Drive (Poetry) A poem. Yes. Yes it is. [88 words] Hunting The Ghost Lion (Short Stories) An African poacher stalks a trophy lion through the savannah and encounters a strange and ancient creature. [2,146 words] [Fantasy] I Thought We Were Perfect (Poetry) A poem. Wrote it awhile ago about someone I loved. Who died. [93 words] Saturday Night (Short Stories) A woman living in a post-apocalyptic future in an empty city. I wrote this several months ago, but as "28 Days Later" just came out, I feel the timing for submitting this is appropriate. [1,484 words] [Science Fiction] She Had Her Dog With Her (Short Stories) Fiction/vaguely fantasy short story about someone obsessed with a woman. [2,617 words] [Fantasy] Solef (Short Stories) Genetically modified monster escapes onto the surface of a harsh alien planet. More sci-fi. Wee. Considering expansion on this. Feels to me more like a treatment than any sort of masterpiece.:) [1,684 words] [Science Fiction] Straying From The Path (Poetry) A Poem, once more. Ahh, my memories of a certain delightful time in high school... and the birth of my disillusionment with this whole diseased capitalist society and its ideals. [471 words] [Mind] Terrarium Life (Short Stories) Surrealistic dystopia. More sci-fi. Needs improvement, of course, but I decided to post so you'll know I'm not dead. Yay. [3,397 words] [Horror] Winston (Part 3) (Short Stories) The escaped pitbull forges a partnership with a bum. [2,671 words] [Horror] Winston (Part 4) (Short Stories) Continuing story about a pitbull and a crazy woman... Labrador Waltz Wolfa
Dance, dance, the dance in the dark
Twirls with the girl and the regal dog
Yellow and white and eyes like the light and
Teeth like the things that live in the heart
The heart of the dark and the heart of the deep
Of the sea and the things that are only teeth
She lifts up her face and the monster looks down
Teeth in his terrible grin and no frown
For the girl as she smiles and she smiles at the thing
That eats her face and swallows her wings
Down the rushing dark of the hole of his throat
To the rushing black and the hole of his soul
And this is the dance that they danced in the dark
With the smile oh the smile as he swallows her heart
And the blood that drips down is the dark of the sea
The rushing bloodbeat of the dead and the free
And the blood that stains him is the sea's rich salt
Of the dance of the dark; the Labrador Waltz

"I have no clue as to its meaning. Maybe you watch too much TV. Some of your other work shows promise, but this? Sorry." -- Richard, OH.
"Thanks on my other stuff -- as for this, it doesn't make sense because I wrote it from a dream that I had, about a painting called 'Labrador Waltz'. You have strange dreams when you fall asleep playing 'Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg' on loop. The only reason I put it up is that I like the rhythm." -- Wolfa.
"Wolfa, Richard is wrong. This is so weird. You mix nouns and verbs you'd never, never expect to see in one sentence that it is actually quite funny! You know those kiddy books with blanks where you're supposed to put a word-any word in? And then end up with a nonsense story that ends up being so silly, it's funny? That's what this poem is like but with a BIG, BIG dose of surrealism and well . . . SHIT going on!" -- Harriet.
"P.s.: Oh, and I forgot to say: I Absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!" -- Harriet.
"Thank you!!" -- Wolfa.
" You both watch too much TV. A big dose of surrealism? Gimme a break." -- Richard.
"If you hate this so much, why do you keep coming back to read it?" -- Wolfa.
"I never said I hated the poem. My last remark was in reference to Harriet's glowing tribute to how you mixed nouns and verbs not normally seen together in one sentence. Hell, I see that from a lot of writers on this site. (although not intentionally like yours) Aren't you lucky to have a fan to analyze your work for other reviewers. " -- Richard .
"Well, thank you for your review. I can't say that Harriet's review was precisely... on target. This poem remains what I called it: Something inspired by wierd music and an extremely disturbing painting. I only posted it because I like the rhythm. It was an experiment, if you will. However, unless someone sneaks into the gallery and super-glues it to the painting, I don't expect it to be published, because it does not make sense without seeing the painting... which is a disturbing one, indeed, of a girl dancing with a vaguely canine demonic being and being swallowed whole. It's creepy." -- Wolfa.
"Ehmm..m. Sehr gut Seite! Ich sage innig..!:) bmw" -- BMW, ..., ..., ....
