Little Black Dress B C Mercer
Verse 1
Riding on a lonely road
In the middle of the night
Don’t know why this is going down
Beneath the pale moonlight
Went against the grain with her
Trying to make things right
Can’t believe the things I did
To start this crazy fight
Went on out to catch my breath
And get away from the stress
That she was putting on me
In that little black dress
Chorus
The little black dress
Is like a dagger through the heart
It’s a lonely man’s kryptonite
To put you out in the dark
No matter how hard you try
There is no defense
To the little black dress
It makes perfect sense
Verse 2
Let a little time pass by
Then I headed back
To the house where she was crying
On the porch in the back
Can’t believe the way that I
Am making her feel
This jealousy that’s overtaken me
I’m trying hard to conceal
But then I sat down and I
Looked into her eyes
She that I’m her only man
And it caught me by surprise
Chorus
The little black dress
Is like a dagger through the heart
It’s a lonely man’s kryptonite
To put you out in the dark
No matter how hard you try
There is no defense
To the little black dress
It makes perfect sense
Rise
Baby I
Don’t know why
I played with your heart
Darling you
Always knew
I’ve loved you from the start
You and I
We’ll always be
Together for eternity
Chorus out
