Making A Difference
Hanan Al Kindi

We are often brought to think that we are studying or working so we can have a better future and afford all our necessities. But what if this way of thinking was only half true? What if by doing what we do we are actually helping other people too?

Every human on the face of earth has a role in making this world a better place for everyone else. This person will either do something in order to fulfill his/her role and help others, or plainly ignore the role and live what they call ‘life’. Life is not only pleasure, it’s hard work too. It’s coming home every night and counting the number of things you have done to help someone, or to make his/her day easier. Life is about hard work and determination to be someone worth something. You might think ‘not everyone can have such determination’, well you are wrong. When there is a burning desire to be someone successful, someone who can be looked up at and used as a good example, then the person can surly make it and no one can stand in his/her way.

You, woman or man, young or old, rich or poor, have something to give this world to make it a better and safer place. It doesn’t matter what it is. Whether its money, a helping hand or just a smile to brighten someone’s day, it is still considered something good. You don’t have to help millions of people, by helping one person you have done more than enough. Help one person and you’ve made a difference.

Many people do their jobs well, but they don’t realize that by doing so they have helped someone or made someone’s day easier. No matter what you do, you are there to help certain people, if not all. Think about the changes that would happen if you were not doing what you do, and no one else was doing it either. Wouldn’t there be a big empty space or a problem in someone’s life? The answer is yes.

We people are here to help others, and the others are here to help us. This is what I call making a difference, so that the world is a much better place.
