No To The Death Penalty

NO TO THE DEATH PENALTY!
Hundreds of kids that are just 16 and 17 years old are being convicted for
crimes they committed when they were minors. I think this is not
fair because they were not responsible or mature enough when they were that age.
Yet, in the states of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky
Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas,
and Virginia has in total 63 juveniles on death row.
Executing teenagers at these ages is not right. The states have tried them as
adults although they are not old enough to smoke, drink, drive a car, sign
contracts, get a job, or go to college. They haven’t even finished puberty!
These convicts are still kids that don’t have the responsibility or the maturity
to make the right decisions.
Another reason i think it shouldn’t be legal, is that killing all these
teenagers is the denial of the right to life that is recognized universally. It
is violating the 8th amendment. It is the final, cruel, inhumane and degrading
punishment that is just as horrible as torture.
The death penalty is inadequate to stop violence; it actually legitimizes the
most complete violence, which cuts off human life by the state and society.
it destroys our world by putting vengeance and reprisal first. It also eliminates
clemency, forgiveness, and rehabilitation by the justice system.
Today, more than half of the world does not use the death penalty. Some have
eliminated it completely, and others do not apply it.
The United Nations cannot find any evidence that demonstrates that its use is
an effective way to fight the most hideous crimes. In the countries that the
death penalty has been introduced again, capital crimes have not reduced. There
are many other effective punishments to protect society from those who commit
Horrible crimes.
In most democratic countries, the cost of the death penalty is higher than
imprisonment.
For this reason, Alejandro Arrese and 1.798.167 million people
have signed NO TO THE DEATH PENALTY.

Leaving someone to fester on death row is less compassionate than ending their lives quickly. The appeals process, judicial motions, stays of execution, and public defenders, etc., yes these inflate the cost of executing a murderer. That's because we keep the bastards alive for over ten years after they've been sentenced. If we gave these people swift justice, as they entitled, these costs would not be incurred. There is no juctice without appropriate punishment. Living 40 years in prison with three square meals a day, a Tv, exercise equipment and a library is not punishment.
