Now And Then B C Mercer
The rush that you gave me
Has long since departed.
My growth was inhibited
From all that you started.
Why I let myself get wrapped up
In your web of lies and deceit,
Have me wondering how I could be so stupid
When you’d walk all over me and cheat.
What did I do to you?
Where did our love go?
It doesn’t even matter anymore.
You want me back? I say, no!
I gave you everything I had
To make sure you were content,
And you took it all for granted
Until the last penny was spent.
My heart, my life, my world
Was your for the taking.
Did you cherish and care for them, NO!
Now my heart does the breaking.
The time that I have wasted
On your sorry ungrateful ass
Was worth every minute though
Now that the time has come to pass.
You use me, I use you
That’s the way the game is played.
I tried to teach you karma,
Now your skies are filled with gray.
Payback is a bitch, huh?
When it comes back to you.
You thought you were so perfect?
Well I’ve got some good news.
I’m leaving you forever, my love,
I never want to see you again.
I hope you’re happy alone,
Thinking of me now and then.
