Octopus August Nyghts
I am finally free
free from your tentacles
this IS what I wanted
this IS what I needed
YES! I am free!
free from your
thrashing
binding
treacherous
bleeding
smothering tentacles
that sucked the life out of me
and held on only for your own
dear life
drown now in your own saltiness
that always stung my wounds
wither in the dry air
suffocate for all I care
I am exhausted
but I am finally free
free from your dying tentacles
you have nothing to grasp onto
and are slowly slipping into nowhere
I feel no remorse
for what has happened
I am not sorry you hurt
my eyes can no longer cry
the tears your heart weeps
I am finally free

"Now this is more to my liking. I enjoyed this poem visually and the flow was just about perfect. I felt the squeezing and the hopelessness. I liked how you used death as a way of getting freedom. It gives the poem a stronger feel. Well done." -- rocky.
"Loved this poem, thought it held a lot of energy, and passion." -- Buxton.
