One Of These Days Jasmine P Batey
That girl
sitting on a park bench,
across the courtyard.
That girl I used to know,
I used to love.
She's by herself,
crying.
I wish I could help,
I want to stop her pain,
I remember us back then.
Laughing, smiling,
She had the most beautiful smile.
It was Irreplaceable
Her smile could light up
even the darkest of nights.
It was able, once,
to light up my heart.
I watch her often now,
and she's always on the park bench,
always across the courtyard,
always crying.
and every time I see her,
I wish, I pray,
That she would look up and smile,
one of these days...
