Reflections On Life John Roberts
It wasn’t meant to be like this, when I first started out.
Excitement and future promise, was what life was all about.
Now as my time grows shorter, I cherish every day.
Though I still sometimes reflect, on where I went astray.
I had such grandiose plans, of things I would achieve.
That I have done so few of them, is still hard to now believe.
Have I made a difference, stood out from all the rest,
I would like to think in all I’ve done, at least I tried my best.
My dealings were always honest, well except for one or two,
And the love and support of family, has always seen me through.
Why don’t we see a coming mistake, until it is too late,
Do we really have control, or are we guided just by fate.
As I sit and contemplate, of things and time gone past,
I worry that my life, is rushing on so fast.
I feel that I must hurry, do things I haven’t done,
And start each day with a joyous welcome, of the morning sun.
For I know that if I delay, tomorrow I’ll be sad,
For wasting precious time, that yesterday I had.
So I can’t sit here morosely, debating when and how,
I have to mow the lawn, and I have to do it NOW!
