Running Down My Face Sara Roggy
Late at night
I dream of you
Dream of you and the life I once knew
The life where everything
Seemed to be okay
And everything bad
Hid itself away.
When you were around
I thought about nothing
Worried about nothing
And felt carefree like a bird
Floating on a soft and gentle summer breeze.
I used to feel
Like nothing could hurt me,
Make feel miserable
Or make me feel used.
But now I know that things can
Because you made me feel that way
You, Dusty, changed my outlook on life
Made me think optimistically
And made me smile when I wanted to cry
Whenever I needed you
You were always near
Offering words of comfort
To help stop my endless tears.
Now you’re gone,
And the tears you helped erase
Have back again
And are running down my face.
