Little Anna was just getting ready for bed. They got home past her bedtime from church. She brushed her teeth, put her pajamas on and took her hair down. She then went into the living room, gave her dad a kiss goodnight, went, and found her mom. Her mother walked Anna to her room, kissed, and tucked her into bed. After her mom left, she laid there and thought about what she learned at church. They learned about taking Jesus as your Savior and believing that Jesus died on the cross for our sins so we could be saved and have everlasting life. The church leaders explained that everlasting life was kinda like living forever. Only it was when you died you were saved and God took your soul to Heaven to live with him forever and you’d always be happy. They said there was no certain way you had to asked Jesus to come into your hear and fill it with the Holy Spirit. Anna thought for a minute then got out of bed, sat on her knees, bowed her head, crossed her hands and began to pray.
Dear God,
Thank you for everything you have ever done for us. Thank you for letting your Son defeat death and make it where we could have everlasting life. Lord I know your Son died on the cross for our sins, and Lord I just ask that you and Jesus come into my heart and fill it with the Holy Spirit. Lord I want to be a follower of you forever. I love you God with all my heart, in Christ name I pray, Amen.
Anna went back in her bed and put the covers over her. She felt different. She felt safe and happy and fulfilled. Anna closed her eyes and soon fell asleep, a follower of God, saved from eternal death. If she were to die right now she new, she’d end up going to Heaven to be with the Father.
