Nesam Pillay
Coconut trees sway lightly
Soft, the blowing wind is breezy
Golden sands are warm
Below my unsandled feet
Rushing blue waters quickly
With cooling bubbles greet me
As I walk rhythmically
On the calming scenic beach
Hear the cicadas singing
In the broad day light
As you step into the humid
virgin tropical jungle bright
so clingy, so sultry, so damp,
mixed feelings flash
Mysterious, strange and a little scary
The Malaysian forest delight
The sight and sounds
Of the village/villagers alike
Gripping to see, pleasure to hear
How simple, how quaint
They live life freely
No hassle, no bother
Like in the crowded city
Enchanting simply beautiful as beautiful can be
Kuala Lumpur is a developing city
No more are we a third world country
A bustling, busy municipality
Variety of races work in harmony
They live here without fear and disparity
They try their best in their sincerity
to welcome all humanity
Malaysia is indeed a wonderful country!

"did you get a job with the tourist board?? i like it. a bit stumped though with the: "rushing blue waters quickly... with cooling bubbles greet me", however. you mean blue waters rush quickly? "rushing" describes the blue waters, i understand. whats the "quickly" represent then? ah, you know me, i only get half of what i read anyway! i was always wary of the word "malaysia" though. "mal" means "bad" or "sick". aysia, i guess is just "asia". hmmm... enjoy your poem!" -- Jersey Mike, belgium.
