The Books Cover Was Wrong. (Part 1:Introduction) Jessi
Ever heard the saying don’t judge a book by its cover? I bet you have. People do it all the time. They see someone and just because of physical features assume they are what they look like. Their stereotypical image. This is a story about that, and that people are not just about what’s on the outside. That the inside counts to.
We all thought Birdie would be different. She was pretty, smart and had all the physical qualities of a high school bitch. But she proved us all wrong. I can tell you what everyone was thinking the day she arrived all the boys were thinking “wow she’s hot!” all the bitches were thinking “omg competition” and us other girls were thinking “great another bitch”.
She walked into my English class all style and beauty. I crossed my fingers looking at the empty seat beside me. I prayed, “please not next to me, please” the teacher smiled at her and pointed to the seat next to me. CRAP! I was stuck next to her. Some of my friends looked at me sympathetically, they knew what I was thinking.
She smiled at me warmly; her bright blue eyes twinkled with amusement. She seemed to also know what I was thinking. Well if she could she’d hear some pretty nasty stuff. I hated all those show off girls who dress up like celebrities and pretended to be so superior. She grinned at me and said “hi i'm Birdie”. I looked at her to see if she was joking. Birdie? What kind of name was that? “I’m Ash” I replied. See my names normal. Ashley. She smiled again. Who was she, she was pretty and would end up popular. She should know that. So why was she bothering with me. I’m just a social misfit.
to be continued :P
