The Empty Bay Alex Empire
As I climb through the night, I pause here in the light. Free and smooth like an art. Art of days gone bye. The emotions only bottle up, and outburst in fits of rage. Calming down, and walking to, the empty bay. We stand here, and look to the sky, on the dry sand. Lonely souls, waiting to die. The end closer every day. Then I look back, to those happy days, years long ago. Never alone, and always care free, full of joy and wit. But now I stand in a pool of blood, but not blood of my self. One person stands, on the wet sand, waiting for death. He wonders what the future holds, distant and afraid. In the back of his head, he knows he is going insane. Yet he laughs, and feels the joy, of days long ago. He looks to the sky, and sees the soul of a friend that grew too old. The friend was a pleasant friend, not fit for earth. Died on the sands, of the empty bay. The friend shouted in pain as a heart was slashed. Then the friend, sleepy, and cold, sat on the ground. The friend tryed to get up, but didn't have the strength. The person looked at the friend, knowing the mistake. This was my best friend, one that will never come again. The person thought with a grim smile, I will see the light again. The person ran, ran away, cold and afraid. For once in his short life, the person felt shame. Will the person ever feel right, or will this just loom? The thought in his head, for-ever more, like a nightmare in day. In a structure, tall and strong, he is on the top floor. If I jump, I just might fly.... just..... might..... fly. So he jumps, and starts to fly. He flys straight down, knowing that, in any second, he will hit the ground. He then sees, that he was wrong, he will never tough the ground. As his soul, breaks from his body, in mid air. He sees his body falling, with resistance from the air. (as it just might be trying to keep him from falling) He once again remembers, the days so long ago, and the cry of the children, on the empty bay. If the deed hadn't happened, and the blood wasn't sheed, would this of happened, of ended this way. Would he of finished high school, maybe got a job? Would he of gotten married, lived some happy years? And in his day, have the same life as those happy rich folks in their big houses? And as he fell to the fire pits, he held his head high, joyful that he had finally died.

"Dude, you are messed up.... other wise, pretty good, I guess." -- Kal Petterson.
"Would benefit nicely from any other paragraphs...pretty good, but other than that, dude, you are messed up." -- Tyrant.
"Umm. You do write stories for a reason? Yes, probably to confuse the people. But emotion is showing through that story, so you wrote it because you felt that way perhaps? Keep writing. You will improve." -- Bernay, Cooranbong, NSW, Australia.
