A shimmering coin falls to floor
Forged in silver with tales of lore
A red drum beats beneath my skin
A nervous fire burns within
Spin this wheel to favor chance
In God's favor I take my stance
To my disease I find no cure
Save the greasy lights and midnight lure
Throw my dice with one desire
For this thirst I know will never tire
My hands shake often while I await
To turn in my chips for a chance at fate
I lend my fortune to unholy men
As I clench the cards within my hand
All smiles and candy they have to sell
But friends are scarce when the last hand is dealt
At dawn I leave with less than at dusk
Have I won nothing with my life of luck?
Well I have won the chance to return again
And show them my best devil's grin
