The Last Sunset Alice W-M
The last sunset
She knew if she told anyone she would be locked up for the rest of her life for being insane, but it was hard to deal with by her self.
She smiled sweetly at her friends and hoped no one had noticed the look on her face. Her best friend was going on about how sorry she was when she noticed how uncomfortable it made Demi and quickly changed the subject to some new band she loved, the band Demi had told her about the day before. She was talking about it like it was her master mind subject, and acting like she was the only one who new anything about them. The devil was whispering in her ear “Kill her, kill her”. The thing was she was actually contemplating it. But this girl really deserved it. She made fun of everyone and acted innocent, so sickly sweet that people actually believed her! Whenever Demi confronted her about it she acted like she didn’t know what Demi was talking about. And her name! Bunny Collins! Anyway that was enough about her for the moment. There were more pressing matters at hand, like the fact that she was lying to everyone. Well at least their suffering would end soon. That very night in fact. Yes the bomb was set and every one was in place. Their tiny minds would finally be relived from the stress of picking out outfits and gossip. And she would be at rest at last. She would never have to listen to that devil again. Well she only had one more thing to take care of. Josh. She wanted him to suffer the most. And here he was coming up to her. Shouting insults. He had done this to her everyday since the incident and now she was going to get her revenge. She pulled the 9mm from her pocket and calmly shot him in the arm. Everyone ducked at the sound of a gunshot. She walked over to him and pulled him up.
“You are scum,” she told him then she shot him in the stomach. He was in agony. She took the knife out from the holster on her wrist and, without blinking an eye, killed him. Josh’s bloody corps lay motionless on the ground. Demi walked off in to the sunset to detonate the bomb. This was the lasts sunset anyone in the small town of Winsdale would ever see.
The sunshine filtered through Demi’s window. She had always loved sun and she was especially happy today because today was the day she was going to tell her boyfriend, Josh, she loved him. She knew he felt the same way. She slowly got up and walked to her cupboard she had to find the perfect outfit.
She walked through the school in the background she could hear police sirens but she knew that they wouldn’t matter soon. She opened the door to the room in which she had hid the bomb.
She arrived at school looking great and waved to her best friend Bunny. Bunny waved back. Then she saw Josh. He was with his gang so she went over and asked for some privet time with him. He, thinking she meant sex, agreed. They went to the back of the school.
She set the bomb for the exact time of sunset.
She admitted her feelings for Josh. Then came the turning point in her life. He just laughed,
“You naive little freek” he jeered, “I’ve been doing Bunny for months! I thought you knew we weren’t serious!”
“But I love you? Doesn’t that mean any thing?” she whimpered,
“Not in this life time babe”
“Don’t you dare call me babe, I hate you! I take it all back!”
With that she ran off.
There was a sudden silence it seemed everyone knew they were going to die that second. Bunny screamed partly from the physical pain, and partly for the loss of her lover.
The darkness of night was eliminated by the explosion, which didn’t have to happen if only one guy could have smiled and said, “I love you too”.

"Dear lord Alice, how depressing. Your prose is quite interesting; long sentence structure, and short paragraphs interspersed with some well placed vocabularly. It's pretty good but I wouldn't have read it unless I knew you!!" -- Lizzy Quinlan, Melbourn (not technically a city, but whatever), Um..., Little Britain.
"wow...that was pretty um....depressing! how does that stuff just pop into your head? gosh that was kinda...morbid....wow" -- sam.
"Great concept mostly. Sad that the girl couldn't have been stronger. I guess maybe needed a little more, blowing up a whole school just because a dick says he dont care...I dont know. Kind of pissed me off" -- Kendall.
