I thought I caught a glimpse
Feet pounding on the cracked tarmac
Rounding the corner I saw a flash of red as they whipped up an alley
Legs heavy and lungs burning I ran on
Pressing onwards
Chasing the mythic beast
I could hear its breath hanging in the cold air
See it’s wet footprints on the drizzle ridden streets
I rounded the next corner and there it was
They said it didn’t exist but it stood in a shimmering haze before me
Catching my breath I sucked in every last drop of it’s beauty
In shimmering red and purples there it stood…..
