The Pressure Sara Roggy
Most try to be perfect
the most popular,
or at least the one
everyone wants to be like.
Those of us who are
just being us,
not caring about the
popularity, or how
many new friends
we'd make if we were popular,
we just walk the streets,
watching others, who
have to be the best,
wondering why those people
try so hard to be something they're not.
It's just the pressure
that's all it is.
Everyone saying you could
be better, if you just changed
your hair, your make-up,
your clothes, your personality.
I won't give up or give in.
I don't know about you.
I'm me, and the only me ever.
It's just the pressure,
that's all it is.
Everyone striving to the best
some trying to be the best at everything.
Nobody's better than anyone else.
Everyone's different in some way,
and that way may not be the way
you like at all.
But live with it,
'cause it's wrong to
make somebody be something
that they're not, and never will be.
I've seen it happen,
it just ain't fair.
It's just the pressure
that's all it is.
Everyone saying you could
be better, if you just changed
your hair, your make-up,
your clothes, your personality.
I won't give up or give in.
I don't know about you.
I'm me, and the only me ever.
It's just the pressure,
that's all it is.
It's the pressure,
making us want to be better.
We can't change the way we are.
Deep inside, a person changed
who didn't want to change,
is still the same person
that they were before.
It's the pressure....
that's all it is...
