The Summer Man K P William Cheng
Midsummer. Flaming, sizzling and petulant. An American businessman and his Oriental boy friend went cruising. He wore a diamond ring, gold necklace and Prada swimming briefs. The Chinese boy wrapped himself in a towel, sunbathing. His mind wandered. The heat butchered the smooth body.
He took off his sunglasses. The bright blue sky.
“I wish I had a boy friend whose eyes as blue as the sky.” Said the boy.
The boat halted. White dolphins jumped up and down in the sea. They exclaimed. Mouths wide open. Watching the mammals.
“I wish I had a man as white as the dolphins.” Murmured the boy.
Another ten minutes passed. A killer whale sprang up. Breathing.
“I wish I had a partner as black as that whale’s body.”
As soon as he completed the description, there he stood, by the beach within sight. Blue eyes, white skin, black hair. Naked. He was the dream and the desire of the boy. The businessman detested him. The boy swam to him. The American followed. The boy grabbed the stranger at once. He held him tight. He felt the warmth, but the rich man had only one notion. He wanted to murder the alien.
The businessman dropped his diamond ring on the sand. He told the boy to pick it up. He meant to get attention and took him away, but the boy said “You can buy a new one.”
He pulled off his gold necklace, and threw it to the ocean.
“Dive in and fetch it for me.” He thought of suffocating the boy to death.
“I am not a fish. Search it yourself.” The boy screamed.
He took off his Prada garment. Now stark naked like the stranger.
“Come to me and give me a kiss.” He ordered.
“I can’t deny you that.” The boy obeyed.
He walked to where the businessman stood. The stranger ran up. He intended to stop the boy. He trampled on a piece of broken glass buried in the sand. He bled, roared and stared at the boy.
Weeping, the boy went to help him, kissed his lips. The strong stranger seized him. He held him close. He bit his nipples. He moved down. He tasted his penis. He licked his testicles. He devoured his buttocks. He thrust his organ into the boy. Simultaneously he spanked the boy. The businessman watched, shocked, could not move.
The stranger finished. His foot was still bleeding. Soon he began to disappear under the fiery sun. Nothing was left except a pool of blood, like a whale being slaughtered on the beach. The boy went to pick up the diamond ring. He handed it to his boy friend. When the businessman took it, he discarded it.
“It is disgusting.” He asserted.

"Surrealistically erotic, the denouement is powerful." -- John Owen.
"The plot is simple, yet owerwhelming. In less than five hundred words, the writer is able to point out the dark side of human nature and human desire. I am impressed by this short story. " -- Tom Geroge, Tokyo, Japan, Japan.
"This story needs a lot more fleshing out--no pun intended. It seems to be intentionally obscure. A good start, however." -- Jenny, Mercer, Fort Worth.
