The Waves Pearl S
The waves rushed in and washed it all away--
All the castles in the sand I worked so hard to build.
I watched in numbness as they washed into the bay,
Everything I sculpted with care...and filled...
Every tower of that castle
Was another part of me.
Every window, every doorframe
Was another victory.
Every hour, every grain of sand
Carefully laid, just so
All the hard work and the effort
I sat by...and watched it go...
I sat by...and watched it go
The waves rushed and they washed away
The memories I used to play in
All the things I used to say and
All the work and soul I put into my life is filled with strife
But I have always tried
And been denied
And I have fallen many, many times,
But didn't I always try to rebuild?
And is it right, is it fair,
My castles...
My life...
Is washed
Away with the tide
The tide
The tide
The tide...
The ti-ide.
