To Soon The End
Jordan Holetzky

Everything was going my way today. I got a raise and much praise from my boss, not only that but I had a hot date tonight. Man, everything was just perfect. But while I was on my cell phone talking about the business, all around me got bright. It was so bright that I thought I was going to go blind. The earth then begun to shake, just a little at first then it started to shake harder. Before I could take hold of anything, I fell face first to the ground. Around you could not hear anyone screaming. Finally, the light was gone and the earth stayed still.

I stood up slowly and looked around; everything was deserted. I turned around in all directions but found no one I was all alone. I turned back around and there was this man with brown hair, kind eyes all dressed in white with sandals. And in his hand he held a Holy Book. This man had a glow to him. I turned to run for I feared this man.

“Do not run from me, for you cannot hide,” Said the man. “ I know all you’ve done and all you hide.”

With that, he opens his Holy book and scans through all the names. He looks up and says, “Your name I cannot find.”

I fall to my knees and begin to weep. How could I not be there? I have done good in life, I have always been kind, respected my parents and gave to the poor.

The man in white then said, “Even if you have done many things to help out other beings it was not enough, you did not follow me, or The Word, and you rejected me many times.”

I sat there and cried for I new he was right, I kept putting off the things to do with God to tomorrow, but tomorrow is here and it’s too late.
