To Warm Me
Rae
he was so warm. he's always warm.
his mouth...
always soft and warm and his lips
soft and wet.
the way he kisses to make it better, to make everything better.
no matter where we are.
no matter how long i've walked, how long i've cried,
how cold i am...
and he has me sit in his lap and just kiss him.
and i feel like something again.
i don't feel so small,
insignificant.
I feel his mouth and the way it loves mine
no matter what's going on.
the way he wouldn't let go or let me off his lap.
the promises...
the promises whispered in my ear.
he would marry me
he will marry me.
kiss him.
he will never let me go.
kiss.
he swears.
he will marry me.
i can still feel his breath against my cold cheek and in my cold ear.
hot breath from his warm, soft mouth.
and if i don't live to kiss him again,
it will have been an awfully miserable death.
