THE AUTHOR
I'm thirty nine, recently single again. I have two boys Cli' (pronounced clee) Real name Christopher and Mark. I'm a care in the community nurse and formerly (when I was married) an occupational Therapist working with the mentally ill on a secure unit. I love reading and writing and meeting people. I hate offal, seafood and intolerance. I keep dog, cat, polecats, rats and reptiles. And for seven years ran the second largest reptile sanctuary in Britain. Apart from having my lads, I think that's probably the most worthwhile thing I've ever done. Writing wise, I've been the main fiction writer for Legends magazine for three years. And have two books published 'Lizard's Leap' published by Quillusers, and 'Better the Devil You Know' soon to be released by Bestbooks.Um I drive a knackered old Astra, and ride a two litre trike. I live in the lake district of England, and am happy. :-) [January 2003]

Tomorrow Lies Beside Us Sue (Sooz) Simpson
I turned to you this morning but you had gone away
Your body lay beside me but your soul no longer lay
That smile I love upon your face, the smile that says, “I love you”
You dream your dreams of someone, your dreams of someone new.
Who holds your dreams so gently?
Who rocks your heart so tight?
Who keeps you warm while I feel cold
In the empty, lonely night
So many dreams behind us, nights we could not part
I was your concerto and you were my fine art
I long to touch you softly, I think you might respond
But the girl that you’d be loving is somewhere far beyond
Who walks with you in dream land?
Who’s fingers yours entwine
Who makes your heart harmonise with hers?
For I know it isn’t mine
You murmur something softly, some whispered secret shared
Perhaps a name I didn’t catch. Perhaps you said you cared
I raise my hand to stroke you, then let if fall away
I turn my back like every night since she has come to stay
Who soars you on the ocean
Who sails you through the sky
Who ticks your tock and rocks your clock
And why the hell not I?
She lies in bed between us
An almost solid form
Your arm reaches out on the pillow
and crooks to keep her warm
When did I turn to nothing
And why could you not wait
I know that I am yesterday
And tomorrow is your date.
Tomorrow is your lover
Tomorrow makes you breathe
Tomorrow is to be my past
For tomorrow you will leave.
