The sepulcher has opened
The death stench leeches out
The wind shrieks in the open door
My mind is filled with doubt
Sarcophagus is waiting
The stake is in my hand
With trepidation mounting high
It’s time to take a stand
The flicker of the torchlight
Illumines shadows deep
My heart is in my stricken throat
As closer I do creep
My hands upon the surface
The marble cold and dank
I pry the ancient coffin lid
And give a mighty yank
I peer into the darkness
Scarlet eyes glow from within
I raise the stake above my head
Forgive me this one sin
Before the stake can enter
A heart grown cold and vile
The vampire grasps my flailing hand
My throat constricts with bile
Dark blood flows from my body
And as it runs I see
Reflected in those soulless eyes
My unholy destiny
Stygian night embraces
My newborn vampire soul
The scent of blood screams out to me
Its powers to extol
My maker’s sly leer beckons
I follow close behind
As he leads me from my mortal life
To prey upon mankind
