When All I Want Is
M Q Walters

So tired of the salty tears,
That I forever need to cry.
And the lies that have chased me through the years,
In reality all I really want is to die.
Drama, Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe,
Shattered dreams and foolish pride.
Tell me what they could possibly know,
Did they ever take a ride on the wild side?
Days go by unnoticed just like me,
Invisible, silenced, and lost.
Fools believe someone will see,
And that they can be worth the cost.
Write it down, what would I say?
That I dared to try?
That I went down the wrong way?
When all I want is to die.
That I used to dream, no more,
That I chose the wrong road?
Just call me the liars’ whore,
The princess that kissed the toad.
The old, ugly, foolish queen,
That tried to build the castle wall.
Where inside there is no mean,
Only to watch it weak simply fall.
Trying to have a half full glass,
Only to find it drained.
Finding all you’ve been is an ass,
An ugly heart left stained.
A dark and cloudy sky,
That blocks the sun from my day.
When all I want is to die,
The only way I know to make it all go away.
What Hell could be worse than life?
Why bother with the tears?
Do I seek the dull jagged knife?
Why bother to try to chase away the fears?
Why follow the illusive liars lie.
Why stand, why even try?
Why bother to cry,
When all I really want is to die.

"I liked this one a bunch. Touching though it seems more like you want to continue the fight than die (which is a good thing)." -- Just A Guy.
"*****This is really good, it has great emotion. It also really reminds me of alot of poems that I wrote, so I can defiently understand the meaning of it." -- d donely.
"Thank you JAG and DD-most of my poems are like this which is because these times are the times I'm motivated to write-am not always like this-just the opposite in fact :)" -- mattie.
"This is a really good poem! everyone throughout their life gets to a point where they just feel like giving up. I think that evryone that reads this poem will be able to relate to it in one way or another. But suicide is never realy the way out, you always have to try and focus on the positives than the nagative, there is always both oin all cases." -- Angela, melb, Australia.
"Thanx Angela, tho sometimes it is very hard to look upon the positive, and suicide is never the answer I agree, I think it not unusual to have passive suicidal ideations, but persoanlly believe that to be a cowardly reaction to lifes bumps and bruises :) " -- mattie.
"Mattie Really loved this one I would not change anything, Very touching I think we all have thoughs of suiside at times I know you are tough Please think positive you know I LOVE YOU!!" -- Di-C, Newport, usa, Virginia.
